Cultural Experiences

Wominjeka

We are very excited to announce that the Koorie Heritage Trust is expanding and, by December 2023, will occupy all three levels of the Yarra Building at Fed Square. This will create a stand-alone and independent First Peoples arts and cultural centre – a first of its kind in an Australian capital city.

Building works will commence on 12 July with an anticipated completion date in November 2023.

We will remain open until further notice, although there will be some disruptions to our daily operations.  As a valued client, we are conscious that this building work may impact on your booking one of our Cultural Experiences program.

If you have any queries, please contact us at any time.

About our Cultural Experiences Programs

Our Cultural Experiences programs include Aboriginal Guided Walking Tours of the Birrarung Marr (River of Mists / Yarra River) and other sites of cultural significance at Federation Square and within the Melbourne CBD for schools and organisations, and the general public.

Building Aboriginal Cultural Competency and Building Cultural Safety in the Workplace workshops and training programs are offered within the framework of professional and personal development for all sectors. Throughout the year, we also offer Aboriginal Cultural Competency workshops for individuals and small groups.

Our Cultural Experiences staff are also available to provide professional development and First Peoples curriculum support for educators.

The Koorie Heritage Trust is a recognised signature experience as a member of Tourism Australia’s Discover Aboriginal Experiences program.
