6th Koorie Art Show Young Mob

The Koorie Art Show Young Mob is our annual event showcasing the diverse talent of Victoria’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young artists aged between 5 and 16 years. This year we are proud to present the 6th Koorie Art Show Young Mob alongside the open category Koorie Art Show. All entries from our young mob are eligible for a number of art prizes in different age categories.

6th Koorie Art Show Young Mob Prize Recipients

  • 5-10 years Koorie Heritage Trust award (x2): Flynn (Daungwurrung/Djaara), Gone Fishing 2023, stringy bark; and, Haami (Daungwurrung/DjaDja Wurrung), All in the same boat 2023, paperbark, native grasses.
  • 5-10 years Koorie Heritage Trust encouragement award (x2): Shaela (Gunditjmara Wotjobaluk Gunnai Kurnai Noongar Yuin), Meet Lardoo the echidna 2023, clay, wood, gumnut; and, Arwen (GunaiKurnai), This is the land, this is the sky 2023, synthetic polymer paint and ochre on canvas.
  • 11-16 years Koorie Heritage Trust award (x2): Njarala (Gunai, Ngarigo Monero), My Country 2023, synthetic polymer paint on canvas; and, Amber (Karajarri), Healing 2023, watercolour paint on paper.
  • 11-16 years Koorie Heritage Trust encouragement award: Kolysha (Gunaikurnai), Journey and connections 2023, bark, ochre; and, Nioka (Wamba Wamba, Yorta Yorta, Mutthi Mutthi), Kuyinggurr-Mother 2023, synthetic polymer paint on canvas.
