Lunchtime Curator Tours of<br>JXSH MVIR FOREVER I LIVE

Join KHT’s own curators for an intimate tour of JXSH MVIR FOREVER I LIVE.   Wander over three levels of the Birrarung Building to explore this in depth retrospective of the late Gunditjmara, Yorta Yorta and Barkindji artist Josh Muir (1991 – 2022).  Take the opportunity to talk with the people who worked with Josh’s family to bring together works from many different collections and help tell the stories Josh created.

The works in the exhibition not only reflect Josh’s ongoing artistic legacy, but Josh himself immortalised through his art. They also showcase Josh’s love of family and community, and draw on a range of themes including cultural identity, the impacts and legacies of colonisation, mental health, addiction, personal loss and grief.

This exhibition has been proudly curated by the Koorie Heritage Trust with Josh’s mother, Justine Berg and partner, Shanaya Sheridan as co-curators.

  • Curators Gail Harradine, Travis Curtin and Jessica Row will be presenting these tours.
  • All welcome.
  • Bookings appreciated.
  • Meet at the Wominjeka Desk at the Birrarung Building at 12:55pm.

We acknowledge the generous support of our public programming partners: Viva Energy Australia, Krystyna Campbell-Pretty and Family, and The Orloff Family Charitable Trust.
