Flora and Fauna is based on early representation of Aboriginal people through recreated “”silver mounted emu eggs”” using easter eggs, kitsch tourist figurines and inherited doilies. The original silver and emu egg works reflect how Aboriginal people were historically perceived. The artist asks: Have these historical perceptions carried through into modern times or been discarded over time as easily as discarding the foil on an easter egg or a dusty old doily?
