Natural Grass Weaving with Aunty Suzanne

Join us to celebrate our Blak Design Program exhibition “Fired Up – Stories through Embers and Earth” with a pair of workshops with 2023 participant, Aunty Suzanne Connelly-Klidomitis (Wiradjuri).

This workshop is an exclusive opportunity as part of our monthly weaving workshops.  Aunty Suzanne will guide you through her own techniques and materials – including locally harvested grasses and emu feathers.

Enjoy the community of weaving together and make time to visit the exhibition.

WHO: For adults over 18 years of age.

HOW: Tickets are free, but bookings are essential.  Places are very limited, so please only book if you know you can make it.

WHAT: All materials and tools provided.

WHAT ELSE: Afternoon and drinks also provided.

PLEASE NOTE: If you book a ticket, and can not make it, please let us know with as much time as possible, so we can offer the place to others.  We do not want empty seats and unused materials.

Bio – Aunty Suzanne Connelly-Klidomitis (Wiradjuri)

Suzanne is a Wiradjuri woman who was born and grew up in Swan Hill and district. Since childhood, Suzanne has watched and helped make artefacts along the Murray River and in the Mallee scrub. Suzanne uses traditional, contemporary and recycled materials to create artworks which have been acquired by the Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery, the Koorie Heritage Trust and the Melbourne Museum.
