Kids’ Club<br>Resin Jewellery with Hollie Johnson

Families, for school holidays, join us online with artist and jeweller Hollie Johnson (Gunaikurnai, Monero Ngarigo) who will guide us through a resin jewellery demonstration creating family mementos using resin, moulds and embedding special objects.

She will talk about her practice and about linking in with symbolic objects, connecting to nature and Country.  She will also offer practical advice about accessing materials and tips about the craft.

We will be running a live online draw for families to win a fabulous resin jewellery making kit.

This free online activity will be interactive and is suitable for kids of all ages with their families.  Bookings required.

Presented with Melbourne Fringe Festival as part of Deadly Fringe programming

About Hollie Johnson: Hollie’s work serves a purpose and tells a story. She is a young GunaiKurnai and Monero Ngarigo woman who aims to share culture through a range of creative mediums. Her jewellery pieces incorporate native plants and natural materials and is always on the hunt for new and interesting means to incorporate culture into her work.

Hollie has a Bachelor of Arts (Photography) and has studied Indigenous languages. She has been fortunate to grow up with a family of traditional artists with expertise in woodcraft, painting, burning and more. Her own work includes jewellery, photography, bush materials, native plants and an eco-friendly and ethical apparel and accessories label, Deadly Wears. Currently working with and mentoring Indigenous students in education, along with combining her knowledge and language Hollie respectfully hopes to utilise her skills to start up her own business that will support up and coming Indigenous artists and people and running a local program supporting our Indigenous Youth. @by_mhj
