Coil Earrings and Twine Weaving with Jasmine-Skye Marinos

As part of KHT’s series of monthly weaving sessions, this April, join Jasmine-Skye Marinos (Arrernte) in making her style of woven craft.  You’ll work with raffia twine and emu feathers to make woven coils and tassels.

Choose to make a key ring, earrings or necklace (or all if you are quick at weaving). This workshop is mob and ally friendly. Each participant gets a weaving pack to take home with them.

  • All materials supplied.
  • Light catering provided.
  • Free but bookings required.
  • Limited number of places in this smaller session.
  • This is a workshop suitable for adults.
  • Fine motor skills involved.

My name is Jasmine-Skye, I love to sew, weave, craft and create. I have been making accessories and handcrafted items as a hobby and want to share my culture through my designs. I am a proud Arrernte woman and have been living on Wadawurrung country for over 10 years.

My passion is to share my culture and pass our traditions onto our future generation. Each creation is to pay respect to my elders and culture, using traditional Aboriginal artwork and weaving in my designs

There is love in every stitch. All fabrics are designed by Aboriginal Artists and the materials used in my products are hand gathered on Wadawurrung Country.

Family, community and connection land are important to me. Living on Wadawurrung country has helped me stay strong in my culture.
